While YouDesignIt.com was already an established industry leader in custom printing and branded apparel and goods, they discovered that their basic brochure-based site wasn’t receiving the anticipated traffic and soon determined that business needed to be ramped up. They wanted to create an online application where users could design their own shirts or hats using either provided clip art or uploaded artwork.

After a false start with one developer, YouDesignIt.com heard about our Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) and enlisted WBL to create a first-class, interactive website that eliminated common industry issues, such as slow turnaround, slow artwork approval, high artwork costs, and slow quotes.

WBL took on the challenge and exceeded all expectations by developing a unique solution to the problem. In the past, websites have traditionally used Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) for online apparel ordering, which put customers on a set path; consumers need to make choices in a certain order, such as shirt type, color, text, graphic, quantity and price. But now, after the implementation of our Flash-based RIA, customers can design their apparel and make a purchase in any order and in only one or two screens, rather than in six or seven—turning a complex process into a fun, interactive experience. So now, people are able to go online and choose their products, create their design, and make a purchase with a few easy steps, while guaranteed to receive their finished product in 10 days with free shipping nationwide.
