The previous Lake Placid Lodge site though visually interesting was built using a Flash-based CMS. The site was experiencing many errors, and was difficult to maintain. As the property transferred to new ownership, Whiteboard Labs was asked to redesign the site to accommodate e-commerce functionality and browsing on mobile devices.
The new site is built on standards-compliant HTML within Whiteboard Lab’s proprietary CMS. The new site showcases the property’s excellent photography. Each section of the site and every unique room type or cabin has its own photo gallery. These galleries are integrated with Lake Placid’s Flickr photosets.
In the end, the new site now offers a better user experience, and enjoys a higher rate of online conversion and is easier to manage and maintain.
