Revving Up in Recession

The current economic turmoil typically sees companies making the wrong decisions with their marketing and communications. “Cut spending and save” is generally the mentality. However, this is the time to rev up your marketing efforts in cost-effective media. It’s not that consumers and businesses aren’t spending. They are prioritizing their purchases. If you are not reminding them on why your service or product benefits them, you will not be a priority purchase.

You may ask: what can I do? First, you have to analyze your current marketing strategy to see if it’s producing the results needed to keep you going in the recession.  There’s plenty of research to support the fact that digital efforts are the most cost-effective means of reaching and building relationships with your target audience. Whether it’s a mobile application, web application, updated website, microsite, blog, mash-up, or custom widget, you can get more return on investment than with traditional media (print, radio, tv). These times are best for trying something new. Venture. Sample. Test-drive. See what else fits.

Next you may ask: who can I turn to for this? <ahem> It just so happens that Whiteboard is in the business of building and designing web sites, web apps, and even iPhone apps. Ok, ok. We’re a little biased when it comes to digital spending, but we come to you in truth. We know that things are not the best right now, but that’s why we want to work with you on starting or enhancing your digital effort. The best part about digital is that it’s always on, even when you’re off. As a reward for your diligence in reading this article the whole way through, we thought we’d praise you for your wisdom. What a wise, wise person you are for reading. We’ll give you a standing ovation if you act. ;) Give us a call or email. We’re happy to help and give you ideas on what you can do to secure your name on your customers’ priority lists.
