Alex BarberDesigner

A Rice University grad who possessed the brainpower and raw nerve to aim for a double major in Architecture and French, Alex has always held himself and his work to the highest standard. It shows. His resume reads like a who’s who of the advertising, photography and interactive design worlds. Some of the best eyes in the business, from Pam Francis to Arthur Meyerson, have tapped Alex to design and maintain their Web sites, showcasing some of both his and their finest work.

His experience includes a four-year term as Houston Community College instructor, enlightening students about the finer points of QuarkXpress, Adobe Photoshop, Macintosh troubleshooting and Web production & design. Then, a two-year stay at Duke Energy gave him free reign to work his visual magic on Graphic Standards and anything headed for the printing press. Then, at Rives Carlberg, Alex continued to raise the bar with every video, photography, Web and animation project he touched. From there he went exclusively to the online realm at Spur Interactive, working on web sites and interactive marketing campaigns. He now works at Whiteboard Labs, designing and developing web sites for hospitality and business clients.

Of course, like any true overachiever, there’s more to Alex than meets the work eye. Wonderfully skilled at origami, he’s been perfecting this ancient art for over 30 years now.
